Description:
The Medical Gas Installers Certification is one of the levels of P.I.P.E.’s Certification Programs which has been developed to serve the needs of medical gas system installers. In order to successfully complete this certification you must complete a 40 hour course, a Brazing Practical Exam, and pass the Medical Gas Installer Written Exam. The written examination is intended to determine the applicant’s knowledge of medical gas systems and applicable portions of NFPA 99 (2021 Edition). Participants must receive a 70% or better to pass the exam. The fee for this course is $700.00.

- NFPA 99-2021 Edition Health Care Facilities Code
- ASSE Series 6000 Professional Qualifications Standard for Medical Gas System Personnel
Prerequisites:
Contractor employees need to have a City of Phoenix Journeyman License or a notarized letter on company letter head stating that the individual applying for certification has at least four (4) years of trade related experience.
Course Objectives:
- To provide knowledge of medical gas code requirements, as well as an understanding of medical gas piping systems, medical gas components, and other associated appurtenances.

Certification:
- After the applicant has successfully completed the Brazing qualifications and written examination, he/she will be issued an "Active" P.I.P.E. Medical Gas Installer/Brazer Certification, and ID card.

Installers include anyone who works on or installs piping or components, in healtheare facilities including dental offices: The purpose of this class is to provide the minimum performance criteria, for Medical Gas Systems Installers to assure compliance with ASSE Standard
Students will be required to successfully complete a written examination as well as a brazing practical exam in which you will be required to braze vertical and horizontal full-penetration joints on 1 ½* copper tubing.
